We all will be exploring how to shift from a language of death to a language of life. This paradigm shift is not easy and takes practice but it promises to be fruitful.
We will explore the meaning of HEALTH - a state of physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being and much more than merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Health is clearly not a commodity one can purchase from a doctor or other professional caregiver no matter how important those professionals are to all of us. Maintaining health requires a focus on creating the conditions for a healthy life.
In small groups using the book, "Leading Causes of Life”, by Gary Gunderson and Larry Pray, as a framework we all will share our insights about: HOPE, AGENCY, BLESSING, COHERENCE and CONNECTION as causes of life and health. You are encouraged to read the book beforehand. But if you can’t find time to do so, we will provide a short written synopsis of the key concepts at the retreat.
